New Build, Co.Wexford

The Brief:

Full design & install of a new build home from construction stage to fit out.

What we did:

We met with the client who specified their wants from their new build home. We worked closely with the Architect, to make sure that the interior elements balanced with the exterior. The project span over a couple of years, as Covid caused the site to close at various stages.

This made the process of designing more challenging, as now presentations and client meetings took place over Zoom! We prepared various fit out schedules from lighting plan, paint schedule and furniture spreadsheets, which enabled the momentum to pick up once the site could open again. This type of planning is key when building a one off home, as the trades, architect and client are all on the same page and aware of timelines.

Our client wanted to create a home where the all of the family could gather & entertain in. In terms of style, we opted for a homely contemporary vibe, where there is also a fusion of industrial with thanks to the Crittal doors and steel support beams.

We wanted to add in wow factor upon entering and this has been achieved straight from the entrance door- thanks to the vibrant Mango colour door. In the hallway, we used red brick cladding on the right hand wall as a nod to the former bungalow which stood on the site. The long hallway could have been a forgotten space, however we decided to use gorgeous glass pendants- which subtly draw your eye down the hall, while adding an ethereal glow.

The statement ‘Studio Green’ Kitchen adds an anchor to the open plan area, which is flanked by a wall of glazing out to the patio area. This was an important as not only are you gaining an ‘outdoor room’ but also visually linking the interior and exterior, with thanks to the colour palette which was relative to the mature tree lined site. The large format interior tiles are carried outside and this is a simple way of bringing the outdoors in.

Our clients are thrilled with how the interior turned out and we were delighted to be a part of the construction of this family home.
